HOW THE HISTORICAL TURKISH CITY IS RESPONDING

On February 6, 2023, an earthquake struck southern Turkey, causing over 44,000 deaths across the country.

The historical city of Antakya was one of the most heavily affected by the quake. Its old Ottoman center was almost completely destroyed.

But amid the rubble, one hospital remained standing, almost like a symbol of hope.

There, a team of four doctors from the Swiss Humanitarian Aid Unit managed to reestablish a pediatric service.

And patients are not lacking.
